Water and drain service

Bathroom and kitchen remodel plumbing in NYC

The plumbing is the part of a remodel that has to be right before the tile goes on. We do the rough-in, the filings and the finish work for homeowners and contractors in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan.

Remodel plumbing services

We work with your contractor or directly with you, and coordinate inspections so the schedule holds.

Bathroom rough-in

New or relocated drains, vents and supplies for tubs, showers, toilets and vanities; shower valve set at the right depth for the tile.

Kitchen rough-in

Sink relocation, island sinks with proper venting, dishwasher and disposal connections, pot filler lines.

Ice maker and appliance lines

Dedicated shutoff valves for refrigerator ice makers, dishwashers and washing machines, so one leak does not mean shutting the house down.

Fixture installation

Toilets, vanities, faucets, tubs, shower systems, body sprays and steam units set and connected after the finish work.

Gas for ranges

Gas line and shutoff for a new range or cooktop, filed and tested.

Filings and inspections

DOB plumbing filings, inspections, and the certificate of insurance and alteration agreement paperwork co-ops and condos require.

What has to be decided before the walls close

Fixture locations, the exact models (because the rough-in dimensions come from the spec sheet), the shower valve type and depth, where the vent will run, and whether the drain for a relocated toilet can achieve the slope it needs. We walk through these with you or your designer early, because moving a drain after the slab or subfloor is poured is where remodel budgets go wrong.

In an apartment, wet-over-dry rules and the building's alteration agreement limit where fixtures can go; we have done enough co-op bathrooms to know what boards approve. For contractors, we provide the plumbing scope, schedule and filings as a clean package.

Questions

Do you work with my contractor?

Yes. We provide the plumbing scope, rough-in, filings and finish installation as part of the contractor's schedule, or directly with you if you are managing the job.

Can a toilet be moved in a NYC apartment?

Often, within limits: the drain needs slope to the stack and the building's wet-over-dry rules apply. We assess it before the design is finalized.

Do you install ice maker shut-off valves?

Yes. A dedicated quarter-turn valve on a proper supply line, not a saddle valve, which is the usual source of refrigerator leaks.

Is remodel plumbing filed with DOB?

Work that adds or relocates fixtures is filed by our licensed master plumber and inspected. A like-for-like fixture swap in the same location generally is not.

Planning a remodel?

Get the plumbing scoped before the design is final.
